YoSUDA
Empowers youth in Kenya and across Africa through digital advocacy
Young Sustainable Urbanization Digital Activists (YoSUDA) initiative is a flagship component of the Strengthening Civil Society Engagement for a Just and Sustainable Urbanization (SCEJU) Project, co-funded by the European Union. YoSUDA positions youth as digital champions of sustainable water and waste management (SWWM), equipping them with critical skills in online advocacy, civic engagement, and climate leadership.
Since its launch, YoSUDA has received over 7,000 applications from youth across Africa, reflecting strong international appeal and growing demand for youth-inclusive climate solutions. Through a tailored e-learning platform, participants complete four structured modules:
- Digital Advocacy
- Sustainable Water Management
- Sustainable Waste Management
- Personal Development and Leadership
The platform fosters knowledge-sharing, critical thinking, and campaign-building skills—empowering youth to influence policies, mobilize communities, and take bold climate action. YoSUDA supports Kenya’s climate goals under its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) while building a new generation of urban sustainability advocates.
