FSTP
Financial Support to Third Parties (Sub-Grants to Grassroots Actors)
The Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) mechanism enables grassroots-led innovation by providing financial and technical support to civil society and community-based organizations engaged in water, sanitation, waste management, and environmental justice in urban informal settlements.
Through the FSTP component, the SCEJU Project channels resources to youth and women-led groups, social enterprises, and neighbourhood associations in Kisumu, Nakuru, and Makueni counties. Selected organizations receive small grants, mentorship, and visibility support to scale their solutions, which may include:
- Community-based solid waste segregation and recycling
- Low-cost water access models
- Climate resilience education
- Digital awareness campaigns on environmental sustainability
This initiative ensures grassroots inclusion in urban policy implementation, directly contributing to sustainable development and local ownership of urban transformation.
